Oh My...

Deary me- it seems as though I have not posted for a couple of months!
Oh so much has happened since then. Which brings me to the conclusion that the world has become very different as to what our parents knew when they were young.
These days all things like driving, school, drugs and money are alien to the good ol' days of the 70's and 80's. My mother drove down the street and back to earn her licence! And now it's a process that takes years. Thanks Australia :| .
I sometimes wonder...sometimes? I think this all the time...why would the previous generations go to so much effort to change things so that they are so complicated and twisted that they no longer function efficiently? I get that human kind needs to advance, but some things are just ludacris. I mean QCS- really? (QCS being a two day test that lobs year 12s together to determine exiting scores by ranking schools with the really rich ones [basically it's rubbish])

Ah sigh- first world problems.

How was your day?

A Tribute to the Golden God

KOTW.
For those of you who know the meaning of that particular initialism ( an acronym is something you say, like QWOP{the more you know :)}) you know that Skulduggery Pleasant: Kingdom of the Wicked is coming out on the 30th of August, but those of you like me in Australia we will have our copies a few week early in time for Derek Landy's tour here. Huzzar for us Down Under.
For me, the SP series had been a highlight of my life (among other titles). Sad, I know. But it really has, and I've been waiting long enough for Derek Landy to finish writing his next book, AND IT'S ALMOST HERE!!!
=] <--- very happy face

Frankly, this post does not really have much purpose, but if any one who sees this hasn't read the books- I recommend them.
Do you have any other books that mean a lot to you?

To the moon!

Science. It's taken us to the moon, and someday we will go to Mars.
It has allowed us to explain phenomena that eludes us, and brings us closer to our beginning.
Science allows us to see what makes us human, to see us down to our cells and genes, of what we have in common and what separates us from each other.
The very fact that we have discovered things like quarks (the itty bitty bits that make up itty bitty atoms) just leaves me in awe.
With scientific technology we can work towards improving our lives, and discovering new ones. To even travel to far out places in other galaxies. Just imagine going on adventures like the Doctor, from Satellite 5 to Gallifrey.
There is just so much more left in this universe to discover!
What I find utterly perplexing is that people don't want to know. Why? That is no attitude towards developing the technology for lightsabers!
The discovery and intrigue of science is just so inspiring. As a world community we should encourage the minds of innovators, inventors, the dreamers and anyone with hope for a better future.
I leave you with a thought.... Where would you be without science?
Science FTW.
Got a problem?
For a catchy little song on quarks, that i've become quite addicted to, please see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0kXkWXSXRA DFTBA

And this is how the world ends- not with a bang, but a wimper.
